How's it going, America,

Check out our latest episode of The Pod Millennial! I talk to Adam Coleman about who's really behind the wheel of America's big rigs, and how unqualified drivers ended up operating some of the most dangerous vehicles on our highways. New episodes drop every Tuesday! Listen, rate (5 stars, of course!), and subscribe!

Let's get into it:

Democrats delivered a resounding defeat to the Republicans on Tuesday, one that was just as decisive as the blow dealt to Dems by the GOP in 2024 when Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, and the left were bested by voters who demanded America first priorities take center stage in Washington, DC. Many of them did—closing the border, fighting waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer funds, addressing discrimination and Title IX violations at American schools—but once neocons got Trump’s ear, the administration lost the plot.

Americans who once voted for Trump still believe in America first principles, but they realized that perhaps the president does not, as evidenced by his willingness to chuck it all out to fight a war in Iran. There are two years before the next presidential election. The oldest members of Gen Alpha will cast their very first ballot in the next presidential election. Conservatives and the GOP have that chance to make their pitch. But what is it?

Pundits, commentators, and podcasters all have their theories and loud voices, but does anyone actually have any big ideas? We just had an entire election cycle full of vitriol and infighting on the right, especially following the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Conservatives and Republicans spent more time trying to hold onto power for their faction rather than on messaging or programs to keep voters engaged in the mission of the GOP.

Which is basically because the GOP didn’t seem to have a mission once the war started. Like many of you, I was disappointed after Trump started the war in Iran after telling us that he would start no new wars. It was the biggest promise and it was the most quickly broken and it caused a rift in the Republican side that honestly wasn’t as visible as it should have been.

In my view, the reason for that is that pundits, podcasters, commentators and wonks were unwilling to break with the president even as they disagreed with him. The warmongers who got in Trump’s ear were aided in their mission to keep the mess going by people who just didn’t really speak up against it and the villainization of those who did, in part because their anger morphed into hatred of Jews.

Now I’m just a person with a newsletter who has been watching this happen over the past year and wondering who would step up and actually lead. Trump has become obsessed with construction projects (which I’m into, btw) and this war in Iran. Maybe Iran is on the verge of getting nukes. Maybe they’re not. I really don’t know.

I do know that JD Vance was right when he said “The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night.” Marco Rubio was right when he said in Munich, “We can no longer place the so-called global order above the vital interests of our people and our nations.” Charlie Kirk was right when he said, “America is the greatest country ever and it’s not even close,” noting that greatness “requires the liberty and the drive to make the most of yourself.”

These are things we must remember. No unnecessary wars, uplift America’s interests not the global ones, embrace liberty, find your hustle, make the most of yourself and this life.
