Let's get into it:
In a hilarious turn of events, leftists and Democrats are incensed that two former pro-NBA basketball players have announced their intention to play in the WNBA. Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White have both entered their "feminine era," they say, and since the WNBA guidelines are all inclusive, but don't define women as what they are, adult human females, they are eligible.
This is exactly what the movement to protect women's sports has needed: men to put it to the test. These men are fully male, just like trans women, have declared that they are women, just like trans women, and would like to join the women's squad, just like trans women. The WNBA has decided to hold an emergency meeting this week to figure out what to do.
Many coaches and players have said they support trans women being able to play in the WNBA, but of course, they've never had to face it. Sophie Cunningham has stood alone, saying that she believes the women's league should be for women. The league, of course, has spewed the stupid leftist talking points about inclusion without actually having to face the consequences of it themselves.
These delusional coaches and players have been able to say they believe trans women should be allowed to play on women's college, high school, middle school, and elementary teams without ever believing that a man would show up demanding to compete in the WNBA. They believed they were safe behind their virtue-signaling rhetoric, thinking no one other than Sophie would ever call them on it.
One editor, Andrew Mercato, said of White and Kanter, "neither man identifies as trans, nor sincerely identifies as a woman." He claims the men are pretending to be trans in order to qualify. But of course... we have been told for years that all that it takes for a man to be a woman is for him to say so, no other qualifiers are needed. Which means Kanter and White are women if they say they are, by leftist rules.
In response, JK Rowling said, "You say some men ‘sincerely’ identify as women, but that these two men aren’t sincere. Do sincere men injure fewer women and girls than the insincere ones? How do we test for sincerity? What if a Sincerity Jury is split? Very much looking forward to your answers." So yeah, what is a "sincerity test," exactly?
Anthony Doyle stated that Lia Thomas, aka William Thomas, who turned out to be a fetishist and swam fully bepenised on the UPenn NCAA women's swim team, "transitioned. Lived her life as a woman. Enes is doing this as a publicity stunt in order to try to make life harder for trans people." Thomas, it should be noted, did not act like a woman, swim like a woman, or behave like a woman.
Pointing that out was Graham Linehan, who asked, "How exactly did Lia Thomas 'transition'? He used to walk around women's changing rooms with his cock out." Which, yes, is what he did. Thomas did the trans thing because for him it was a sex thing.
Meghan Murphy, who was banned from Twitter under Jack Dorsey for saying a man was a woman, also weighed in, saying "To those who are angered by the male basketball players who have announced they want to join the WNBA: Tell me why they shouldn't be eligible. Please. I am begging you."
Another leftist, speaking on Piers Morgan, asked, "Why are we assuming that the process of becoming a trans person, whether it be a trans woman or a trans male, it's as simple as putting on a wig and just deciding to change your pronouns? That is simply not the case, right? People who are trans go go through a process years over years over years of going through hormonal therapy, of going through support for their mental therapy as well, going through support of changing their pronouns via official means. They go through a process in which they determine whether or not they feel like they are internally a male or a woman. It is not as simple as just deciding to become an athlete."
Oh.
So these people are opportunistic liars who have no values other than the shifting sands of their own feelings. If the WNBA is inclusive and trans women are women and woman means anyone who claims to be one, and Royce White and Enes Kanter Freedom say they are women, let them play.
We didn't make the rules. The left made the rules. And now they don't like them and don't want to follow them. But they can't make any other rules. They can try to say that trans women are a distinct entity from women or from men, but they've spent years upon years telling us that there is no difference at all. If "woman" is whatever anyone who says they are one says it is, then let Kanter and White play. If women are instead actual adult human females with a real biological definition, then let's protect women's sports.
