How's it going America,
Check out our latest episode of The Pod Millennial! I talk to editor-in-chief Brittany Hugoboom about launching Evie Magazine, building a media empire, and how they created a dress that broke the internet. Listen, rate (5 stars, of course!), and subscribe!
Let's get into it:
The Democratic Socialists of America have made their aims transparent. They're not interested in their own purported values, as stupid as they are; instead, they are laser-focused on power. These are the guys that lash out at the rich for being rich, demand the rich fork over their earnings, and have plans to use that money to bring vast numbers of social programs to Americans—whether they like it or not.
The DSA wants to end federal immigration law, they oppose Israel's right to exist as a nation, they believe "housing is a human right," are anti-fossil fuel, are in favor of sex changes for children, lots of abortion, and believe socialism is a spiritual calling. If the DSA had its way, private enterprise would be damn near impossible.
So how can they get behind a guy like Tom Steyer? Because it doesn't really matter to them if he is literally the very creature they oppose, if they can use him for their own interests. They say that Steyer backs state-level single-payer health care, which essentially would put all Californians on Medicare. He doesn't like federal immigration law and has called Immigration and Customs Enforcement a "violent extremist group." He's also called to prosecute federal agents.

"Tom Steyer is somehow running the most progressive campaign," they said. Those they declined to endorse are Xavier Becerra, Antonio Villaraigosa, Katie Porter, and Tony Thurmond. Becerra was Joe Biden's disastrous DHS secretary who famously told would-be illegal immigrants, from the podium at the White House briefing room no less, "we're not saying don't come, we're saying don't come now." Which honestly would be something the DSA would like, but they think he won't actually get anything done, and they're probably right.
Katie Porter answered nearly every question on the debate stage with "Trump bad" and freaked out at a reporter who just tried to ask her normal questions. She held up her hands, she said "I don't want to have an unhappy experience with you, and I don't want this all on camera." And just like that, her frontrunning campaign slipped to the bottom of the polls. Former LA mayor Villaraigosa and CA education superintendent Thurmond are basically non-entities when it comes to their chances.
The Democrats and socialists have entirely embraced those things that are anathema to American values, as detailed in the Bill of Rights. Now, they're embracing people who have made billions off, in their own words, the backs of the working class. How can anyone take these guys seriously?
