How's it going America,
Check out our latest episode of The Pod Millennial! Make America Pro-Life Again: "Safe, legal, and rare” — remember when that was the standard? I talk with Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life, about how we got from that to abortion on demand at nine months.
Let's get into it:
Jimmy Kimmel doubled down on his anti-First Lady, anti-Trump comments during his late-night show on Monday night. After he said on Thursday—just two days before a 3rd attempt was made on the president's life—that Melania had the "glow of an expectant widow," President and Mrs. Trump called for ABC to do something about Kimmel. Trump said he should be fired.
In response, Kimmel mocked the outrage, saying he woke up to "Twitter vomit storm." You'll recall that in 2018 Kimmel praised his network, ABC, for firing Roseanne Barr from her own show after she mocked Obama aide Valerie Jarrett. But now, he and everyone else shout free speech.
"Again, five nights ago, it was a pretend roast. It was not, by any stretch of the definition, a call to assassination. And they know that," Kimmel said, as though essentially calling for the First Lady to be made a widow is just all in good fun.

"Just because no one got killed doesn’t mean it wasn’t traumatic and scary," Kimmel said. "But if you want us to believe that a joke I made three days before this dinner had any effect on anything that happened, well then, maybe someone should look into this psychic lady too."
"Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country," said First Lady Melania on Monday. "His monologue about my family isn’t comedy- his words are corrosive and deepen the political sickness within America.
"People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate. A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough. It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community?"
Kimmel responded, but did not agree that calling for the death of her husband was a problem. "I agree that hateful and violent rhetoric is something we should reject," Kimmel said. "I think a great place to start… would be to have a conversation with your husband about it."
