How's it going America,

Check out our latest episode of The Pod Millennial with Tim Pool where we talk about AI art and humanity. I also talk with Old Sovereign Publishing head George Carter on their new playwriting competition in the spirit of the classics. You don't want to miss it! Let's get into it:

Trump has finally tired of Kristi Noem, or ICE Barbie as she's known on the left, and removed her from her post as Department of Homeland Security Secretary. It was always a bit of a weird pick, to be honest, and then when she kind of botched things in Minnesota, it seemed like a done deal. Trump also seemed a bit displeased by her $220 million ad campaign. It featured Noem on horseback speaking about border security. Sure, it talks about illegal immigration, but mostly it's about how she looks in her cowgirl getup. She told Congress Trump was all in on the ad blitz—but he wasn't.

Trump recently chewed her out during a lengthy meeting in the Oval Office, which followed the federal agent shooting deaths of both Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis. She's the first Cabinet secretary to get canned so far in Trump 2.0, and instead of shipping her back to the Dakotas, Trump's created a brand new position and a brand new initiative for her. Seems like one of those things where she's just failing up.

"The current Secretary, Kristi Noem, who has served us well, and has had numerous and spectacular results (especially on the Border!), will be moving to be Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas, our new Security Initiative in the Western Hemisphere we are announcing on Saturday in Doral, Florida. I thank Kristi for her service at 'Homeland,'" Trump said in announcing his new guy for the job, Senator Markwayne Mullin.

Pulling Mullin depletes the GOP majority in the Senate, which isn't super great, especially as we've got seats on the line in this year's midterm elections. And now it seems like Trump is dead set on endorsing Cornyn in Texas. The only problem is that he's gonna be facing off against this new guy, Talarico, and if there was enough buzz for Cornyn he would have won his primary outright, which he didn't.

Ken Paxton said he'd quit the race if Cornyn passed the SAVE Act, requiring voter ID in federal elections in all 50 states, but like, is that gonna be enough to get him over the finish line?

In Iran, the war continues. Only now it seems that CENTCOM is preparing for it to last at least 100 days, if not into September. And Iran's foreign minister is saying they're expecting ground troops from America. The rumors that an F-15 was shot down turned out to be just that, rumors. Pete Hegseth and Trump say America is in it to win it no matter how long it takes. It's not entirely clear what winning looks like. Trump was out there again on thursday urging Iranians to rise up, take to the streets, and fight the IRGC. Fine and dandy, sure, but time will tell if that will happen or if instead, everyone with the means just takes off for the border.
