How's it going America,

Check out the latest episode of The Pod Millennial in which I talk to UltraFree podcaster and Emmy-winning actress Drea de Matteo of The Sopranos in an honest, unscripted conversation about breaking with Hollywood orthodoxy, losing everything during the COVID mandates, raising teenagers in a hyper-political culture, and finding faith and freedom in turbulent times. From memoir writing to media manipulation to the spiritual undercurrents shaping today’s cultural battles, nothing is off-limits. You don't want to miss it! Subscribe, rate (5 stars, of course), and listen.

Let's get into it:

AOC went to the Munich Security Conference to spread the message of American Democratic communism. Of course, she didn't phrase it that way, but that's what she was doing. She called to tax the rich, she said whiteness is "imaginary," she called the ancient, Christian bonds between Europe and America a "thin foundation," and she said that international law must be treated with paramount importance.

Listening to her speak, both in the panel in front of European leaders and when speaking to an audience of over 1,000 TU Berlin students, the young New York Representative presented a vastly different perspective of the United States, her goals, and interests, than Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Rubio appealed to our shared heritage and values with Europe, but AOC has no time for that heritage or those values.

As she spoke to the Security Conference, however, she made a substantial number of flubs. She had no answer for how the US should deal diplomatically with the stance of Chinese aggression against Taiwan. She said the US ousted Maduro because Venezuela is below the equator. (It isn't.) She claimed—to a German audience—that Israel is guilty of genocide in Gaza. And she made an absolute ass of Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, who claimed that AOC was "much more steeped in foreign policy" than she was.

But perhaps the best part was that after her disastrous Munich remarks, AOC called The New York Times to whine about it. She didn't like that she was asked about whether or not she's planning a run for president, and per the Times, was "worried that her message — warning that wealthy world leaders must better provide for their working classes or risk their countries sliding toward authoritarianism — was being lost in all the commotion."

AOC told the Times that she went to Munich "because we need to sound the alarm bells that a lot of those folks in nicely pressed suits in that room will not be there much longer if we do not do something about the runaway inequality that is fueling far-right populist movements." Of course, those are the very people AOC will put in line for the guillotine once she's done with the rest of us. She also said, basically, that it was rude to take "any five-to-10-second thing" she said and turn it into a viral clip.

One of those was her comments to the press, where she said, "we have tried everything that the conventional wisdom has said is best, and where we are today is record inequality." Of course, that's a complete and total lie. Where "we are today" is with record low poverty compared to 50, 100, and 200 years ago. We have record equality under the law in Western nations. But for AOC, the only answer is to tax the rich and redistribute that money to social programs—as if that's not already what the Nordic countries, Northern Europe, Canada, and the rest of the Anglosphere already do.

Her goal, she said, was to create a collectivist mindset. To that end, she told students, "We have to grow our ranks, and we have to persuade. If we go separately, we will lose it all."
