Hi everyone-
This week in Kentucky a state senator brought a bill to get DEI programming out of schools and the educational infrastructure. She cited low test scores, less academic achievement than before DEI went in, lavish overspending on travel for DEI conferences, dinners, catering, bartending, all in the name of equity for students. DEI isn't working, said Lindsey Tichenor, and she brought receipts to prove it.
But for the ladies of the Kentucky legislature, white, liberal women who apparently hate themselves, their whiteness, and think very little of their white constituents, the argument wasn't about whether or not DEI in education was working, but about how white people need to know their "historical privilege." They didn't even seem to care if DEI actually made them realize that privilege or not. Hint: it doesn't, it just pisses people off.
The leftist legislators use the fact that there has been discrimination to argue for these specific DEI policies as though the mere existence of a proposed solution means that it is the right solution. They don't even question the solution that has been proposed, they just say that because there is a problem this must be the solution.

DEI offers fake solutions for real problems. It offers discrimination against white students as a solution for past discrimination against black students. We've already seen courts roundly reject the premise that past discrimination can be fixed with present discrimination.
Of course there has been discrimination in the past, but the current problems we're seeing in education: low academic achievement, discipline problems, teacher shortages, and over use of tech like AI, chromebooks, and virtual learning platforms, are NOT being addressed by DEI measures. Instead things are just getting worse.
These ladies like Sarah Stalker who seem to say that because they don't like being white all white kids should learn the historical badness of their skin color are doing an outright disservice to America and to our children. "I don't feel good about being white every day for a lot of reasons," Stalker said. She said that white kids need to have a moment to reflect on how the color of their skin does and does not allow them to move through the world."
I think we all know that teaching kids they suck because of the color of their skin is wrong. Why don't these stupid legislators know that?
