Hi everyone-
Jasmine Crockett is running for Senate. After cat fights, insults, missteps, and a whole bunch of ignorance in the House of Representatives, Crockett is turning in her credentials on one side of Congress to try to take a turn on the other side. There's way less senators, so it's a true power move.
Crockett jumped in the race after Colin Allred quit his bid for Senate. Allred quit for Crockett, to let her have the space to run. As she made the announcement to do so, taking the podium on Monday night, she cried, she waved her hands, and proclaimed her love for the district she seeks to leave
.
She's already updated her Twitter bio with "Candidate for US Senate." Her campaign video is just her headshot with Trump's voice over top saying mean but true things about her.

A rapper delivered himself of song at the podium ahead of Crockett emerging from backstage. It was a poor rap, but he did it anyway. And he did it poorly, trying to keep up with the pre-recorded lyrics, and taking aim at outgoing Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene as he did so.
Then Ms. Crockett stepped out, "y'all look real good," she told a room of lackluster supporters, "but are you fired up?" They didn't seem to be. "Are you ready to go? Alright, Texas. Let's get down to it. I know y'all are ready to hear some good news and some of y'all already heard it before you got here."
She'd already played her campaign video. So literally everyone in the room already knew. Even so, she said "yes, it is true. I am running to become your next United States Senator from the state of Texas."
This is the woman who has said "just because someone does a crime that does not make them a criminal." She defended illegal immigrant criminals, saying that the real people who should be deported are "white supremacists."
She also once said, as the House was voting to hold Biden AG Merrick Garland in contempt, "I’m just curious, just to better understand your ruling, if someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleach blonde, bad-built butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?" That earned a "what now?" from chairman James Comer.
Good luck, Texas. You're gonna need it.
