By now, you've heard the news that there was another transgender school shooter, this time in Minneapolis. Two children were killed at the Annunciation Catholic Church and School, and 14 others were injured along with three adults. The shooter came up to the church where children were gathered for the first Mass of the year, barricaded the exits, pulled out three firearms, and shot through the stained glass windows at those assembled for prayer. The shooter took his own life.
One 5th grader spoke about how he and his friend dove under the pews and his friend Victor shielded him, taking a bullet himself in the back. The children are all expected to recover and there have been no further fatalities. Like lots of other parents, as soon as I heard this was happening I wanted to rush to my son's school and pick him up and keep him safe forever. I know all our hearts break for the parents whose children didn't come home yesterday.
Shooter Robin Westman changed his name from Robert on a Minnesota gender change form back in 2020 with his parents' approval. He was a minor at the time. The paperwork said that Westman "identifies as a female and wants her name to reflect that identification."
He attended the Annunciation School, which goes from K-8. His mother worked at the school, retiring in 2021. Westman also worked at a cannabis dispensary. He had "kill Donald Trump" written on a gun magazine and his manifesto said he hated God. He hated everyone, he hated Christians, but most of all he hated himself. The attack was planned. His notes referenced other school shooters, like the Covenant School shooter in Nashville, the Columbine killers, and other killers like Luigi Mangione.
"I wish I never brain-washed myself," he said in his manifesto. He also said he "was tired of being trans." Westman further complained about his long hair, wanting to cut it but not wanting to be humiliated. "I only keep [the long hair] because it is pretty much my last shred of being trans. I am tired of being trans, I wish I never brain-washed myself," he wrote.
"I can’t cut my hair now as it would be embarrassing defeat, and it might be a concerning change of character that could get me reported. It just always gets in my way. I will probably chop it on the day of the attack," Westman said. "I don’t want to dress girly all the time but I guess sometimes I really like it. I know I am not a woman but I definitely don’t feel like a man," he said.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, pundit Jen Psaki, and others all warned that people should not use this incident to say anything mean about the "trans community." CNN, NYT, and other networks all hedged about his being trans, using female pronouns for the man who was wracked with trans regret. They are so anxious to uphold the lies of trans. But make no mistake, it is a lie. Westman knew it, but still all these outlets called him a "she." A casual listener would think that a woman was the shooter, not a confused, hateful man consumed by demons.
