Hi everyone!

Democrat voter registration is dropping. The party has no cohesive platform. The only visible leader is the man trying to usurp power in a power vacuum, Gavin Newsom, and their message is still orange man bad, white people are racist. That's it. As much fun as it may be to watch your political opponents flounder, it's actually pretty bad for the country to have only one viable party. It's better to have strong parties that push each other to hone their ideas and do better for the people who elected them to govern.

But don't tell that to New Jersey's Democrat Rep. LaMonica McIver, who was indicted for "forcibly impeding and interfering with federal officers" at Newark's Delaney Hall earlier this year when she tried to stop federal law enforcement from carrying out deportations. She claims all of Trump's policies are white supremacist. "Oh, when he says it's liberation day, and all of these things, those are y'know ways of him saying 'oh it's white power, it's what I want to do.' It's racist remarks," she said.

His number one targets are cities that are led by black mayors. His number one targets are sanctuary cities that support immigration," McIver said on a podcast. LA Mayor Karen Bass complained that Trump' tackling crime in DC is racist.

"I'm concerned about the way he is rolling that out in Washington, DC," Bass said, "which is essentially calling, essentially going after young black and brown youth in Washington, DC, imposing a curfew, saying that if they violate the curfew the parents could be charged $500. Saying that the kids could be detained and arrested." A curfew was put in place for the Navy Yard—and it's helping. The police union says violent crime is down 8% overall. And the DOJ is investigating the legitimacy of the stats up to this point.

"We've tried those policies before," she said, "they do not work. And it's my understanding that crime was going down in Washington, DC, so what is the purpose of this?" The numbers are slowly falling from record highs of over 270 murders per year. Young people—as young as 12—have been responsible for 56% of carjackings since 2023.

Washington, DC is a majority black town. The largest age group is 20-29. That means the city has a great deal of young people who are black. Does she believe that these people don't deserve to have safe cities because it's worse to tackle the crime than to let it be?

Newsom had the same idea when he said, "eight of the top ten murder states in this country are red states." But what he didn't mention is that 8 of the 10 cities with the highest homicide rates have Democrat mayors, 1 mayor is unaffiliated, and 1 is a Republican. Jackson, Birmingham, St. Louis, Memphis, Baltimore, Cleveland, Dayton, Kansas City MO, all Democrat led. Detroit's mayor is unaffiliated, Shreveport's mayor is a Republican.

Democrats are not going to win if they keep saying that fighting crime is racist. In so doing, they make two claims: 1) that Americans don't want safe cities, and 2) that black people are inextricably linked to crime. I don't know, that seems a little racist to me.
