Aug 18, 2025 | Just say "no" to manufacturing genetically engineered orphans

Brought to you by NewsQuiz.io

Hi everyone!

Chinese engineers are creating an artificial, humanoid robot to gestate our young. The plan is to sell these pods for about $14,000 so that anyone can manufacture motherless orphans for themselves. The Guangzhou-based Kaiwa Tech calls the robots a "pregnancy alternative" to relieve human women of the burden of human pregnancy. But really it's a machine to create human children that are loved by no one, have no built-in protectors, and have no emotional or physical connection to anyone.

Artificial gestation machines like these are the beginning of a nightmare with which we are all familiar. America is so worried about it that we have a 14-day rule, meaning that no one can grow a baby in a lab past 14 days. It's not that we can't do it, it's that it's morally reprehensible to manufacture children. But the inventors of this breeding machine don't care about that at all. They say they're in talks with officials about the ethical considerations, but the ethical considerations should prevent technology like this from being commercially used at all.

This kind of experimentation is happening in the US, too, only here it's not manufacturing orphans but creating the perfect child, free from all blemishes and flaws. A company called Orchid can screen embryos for imperfections and allow parents to select only the most ideal embryo for implantation. No longer will parents have to wonder if their children will suffer from mental or physical ailments—they'll be able to select the embryo that is closest to perfection.

Orchid founder Noor Siddiqui spells out her eugenicist plan, saying "If you have enormous genetic privilege, and for you to roll the dice and to get a outcome that isn't going to lead to disease is in the cards for you then of course then go ahead and roll the dice, it's just that I think that the vast number of parents in the future are not going to want to roll the dice with their child's health. They're going to see it as taking the maximum amount of care, the maximum amount of love the same way they plan their nursery, they plan their home..."

Perhaps it won't be too long before the artificial womb company pairs with the flawless embryo company, and governments can create their own super soldiers capable of going into battle with no connections to family, mother, father, or anything else. They'll never have had love in their hearts, making it easier to slaughter the innocent and guilty alike. Maybe those governments will instead create slaves.

Or maybe what will happen is that conceiving children in the traditional way, with passion and love, will become déclassé, something only the poor are forced to do, while everyone else can go through the elevated procedures of IVF, embryo selection, and artificial gestation. This won't increase fertility but decrease it, no one will have sex for conception anymore.

Kids born without the benefit of these technologies will come to hate their parents for having done them the disservice of birthing them without interference. And that's nothing compared to how the other kids will treat them, making fun of those who were conceived and born naturally. Kids whose genes are messed with before birth will blame their parents for anything and everything, saying that they were genetically engineered toward failure. What will they do when they feel their own inner selves, their own innate spark, missing?

We're so eager to advance humanity through technological advancement that we don't care if we destroy what it means to be human in the first place. Both of these technologies are in service to a transhumanist future that breeds humanity out of humans.
