Hi everyone!
"When someone stands up and says 'I will led this city by making it more affordable. And here my plans, real plans, plans on to deliver on child care, plans to deliver on housing, plans to deliver—we're gonna experiment, we're gonna try things on groceries—that is the Democratic message," said Senator Liz Warren on a campaign stop with NYC mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani.
Mamdani is part of the Democratic Socialists of America, a group that prides itself on helping the young Indian Ugandan leader craft his trans and LGBTQIA+ policies. "We wrote the platform with him," said NYC DSA member Daniel Goulden. "The team was so happy to work with us on this and now he's going to be mayor." That policy is for NYC to pay for sex change surgeries for anyone in the country. "We’re gonna fly people in and pay for their hotel rooms," Goulden said.
NJ Senator Cory Booker was asked if he endorsed Mamdani, and he skirted the question, saying "the lines that divide us in America are not nearly as strong as the ties that bind us." When the reporter pressed, Booker said, "I have learned a long time ago: Let New York politics be New York politics." But that's not the question: the question is whether or not Mamdani represents the Democrats' direction or not.
Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett told crowds, "listen, Donald Trump is a piece of sh*t, okay? We know that. Yes, yes, he is. But in a functioning democracy, he still would not be able to get away with this, but he’s been able to get away with this because House Republicans are complicit. He’s been able to get away with this because Senate Republicans are complicit." Her plan? Ethics reforms for the Supreme Court.
None of these people has said a word about the massive ethics corruption in their own party. In 2016, Democrats, led by their presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and by President Barack Obama, set about framing Donald Trump as a Russian collaborator—all to distract from Clinton's email scandal. It was just all crazy lies, organized, planned, fabrications.
The Democrats have a Machiavellian take on Trump: the ends justify the means; by any means necessary. They believe that it doesn't matter if they destroy their own moral structure, go against all their own values, so long as they gain or maintain power. They're out there screaming that still.
Kathy Hochul and Gavin Newsom have promised redistricting measures, even though neither of them has the power to implement them, because they don't like how Texas is doing their redistricting. All of these states, however, benefit from the massive numbers of illegal immigrants who reside their, skewing the numbers that determine the number of representatives in the House.
The Democrats are in free fall. They have no leader, they have no message, and their primary platform is still just hating Donald Trump. Do better, Dems.
