Hi everyone!
The Department of Justice is planning to meet with Ghislaine Maxwell. They've already reached out to her attorneys and now AG Pam Bondi has said, "I anticipate meeting with Ms. Maxwell in the coming days." Maxwell, who is only a few years into her 20 year prison sentence for her role in a scheme to sexually exploit and abuse multiple underage girls over the course of a decade, has been seeking a new trial, which the DOJ has essentially balked at. A few GOP members of Congress have also asked that Maxwell come testify before that body.
At issue for Bondi is what Maxwell knows about Jeffrey Epstein's alleged enterprise. He died in 2019 while in jail awaiting trial. Maxwell has been notoriously tight-lipped about the whole thing. She's been serving time in a federal prison in Tallahassee. An inmate who was in the same dorm, a transgender former Oath Keeper in prison on J6 charges, has said that Maxwell is not at all suicidal.

The man many of us knew as Theo Huxtable, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, died earlier this week when he was caught by a wave while on vacation in Costa Rica. His body was pulled from the sea lifeless and he leaves behind a wife and daughter. He was a prolific actor and artist long after The Cosby Show, rated number one for five consecutive years, came off the air. He was not one of those child stars who make it big young and then fall into the traps of fame and debauchery that can ruin lives.
I know I'm not alone when I say that growing up, I wished I could be a Cosby kid. Theo was like the best little brother—and I know what I'm talking about because I have two unbelievably great little brothers of my own (if only they'd let me try to sew them a Gordon Gartrell). Lisa Bonet was my idol, she was so cool and interesting and just the right amount of involved and detached from the family, and even sort of from her life (if you followed her to A Different World, where she went to Hillman College). But probably I was more like Vanessa, the awkward teen who doesn't know how to fit in, or even if she wants to.
It hits different when a celeb's death is of someone you actually admired and wished the absolute best for. He didn't come out and condemn Bill Cosby when Cosby faced his complete and total criminal #MeToo-ing, but acknowledged that his feelings were nuanced. Cosby, who played Heathcliff Huxtable, and Phylicia Rashad, who played mother Claire Huxtable, spoke together after Warner's untimely death. They both feel they've lost a son. Cosby said it was like when he lost his own son Ennis in 1997.
Finally, I spoke to Pamela Garfield-Jaeger, a columnist for Human Events, a therapist dedicated to honesty, and an author, about her new children's book Froggy Girl, her book for parents about how to handle your kids suddenly going trans—complete with a trans to English dictionary—and a bunch of other stuff when we met up at TPUSA's Student Action Summit. The book is out now and you can pick up a copy here.
I've also gotten back into my Substack and I'd be honored if you check it out here and would be thrilled if you buy a paid subscription. It's definitely a bit different from what's in the newsletter or my other work.
