Hi everyone!
ICE raided a weed farm in California yesterday and Democrat elected leaders are freaking out claiming that our essential farm workers are being targeted. The feds found 10 children at the Glass House facility in Camarillo, 8 of whom were unaccompanied, indicating that the weed farm had children working there, which is definitely against the rules.
Tom Homan was asked about it and said that federal agents are still looking for the 300,000 unaccompanied minor children that slipped through the cracks in the Biden administration. Under Biden, children who crossed the border were held briefly by DHS, per the Flores Agreement, and then were handed over the HHS, which was supposed to ensure that the children went to appropriate sponsors. Once the children were in the hands of sponsors, HHS pretty much washed their hands of them. Homan said 10,000 children have been recovered so far.
California Governor Gavin Newsom was particularly upset about the raid on the cannabis cultivator, saying "Kids running from tear gas, crying on the phone because their mother was just taken from the fields. Trump calls me 'Newscum' — but he’s the real scum." He did not address why there were a bunch of kids at a weed farm. Texas Rep. Brandon Gill summed up the Democrats' position succinctly, saying "We need illegal alien children working all day in the fields to grow our weed!”
During the enforcement action, a protester shot at federal agents, though it does not appear that he hit his target. Social media erupted with people pontificating about how the man was "not a protester," but it's unclear exactly what his role was with the farm or the opposition to the operation.
As these raids and deportations continue, lots of video has been emerging showing people being rounded up and taken away. Other reports have been coming in of immigrants who have been in the US illegally for decades self-deporting, which is the only way to ensure they have a chance to enter legally down the road, per the Trump administration.
And these raids definitely look ugly, even at the weed farm. Anyone with any empathy or compassion can look at these videos and feel their heart ache for the parents, the children, and the difficulties they face due to their undocumented status. The thing is we knew it would be ugly, it was never going to be nice to see people forced out of the country simply because they did not come here legally.
There needs to be consequences for those who opened the border and forced this scenario. Biden had more people coming across the border in a month than came into the US every year during the 60 years of the Ellis Island era. Giving everyone amnesty, or even granting a little selective amnesty, would encourage more people to come. The Democrats who encouraged open borders, that used billions in tax dollars to fund aid to people who broke the law to get here, who flouted the border and immigration laws, and encouraged people to break them, have to know that they can't do this.
It's a disservice to the American people and it's a disservice to the people who come here illegally with no legal pathway to becoming citizens. Reform immigration, come up with new ideas, all of that, but don't demand that the laws you broke were worth breaking and need to keep being broken just because you're sad you got caught.
A federal judge has ruled that President Trump's executive order ending birthright citizenship for children born to non-American parents cannot stand. The suit before the New Hampshire bench was a class action suit and the "class" referenced in the suit are essentially unborn children who have yet to be born on American soil. This is of course the same "class" that Democrats refer to as a clump of cells with no rights.
The ACLU brought the class action after the Supreme Court ruled that district judges cannot issue nationwide injunctions and that to get a blanket ruling, a class of people needs to be identified and a case needs to be brought on their behalf. The ACLU doesn't believe the unborn have rights unless they are useful to their open borders cause.
About 250,000 children are born in the US to illegal immigrants every year. Most nations that have birthright citizenship require at least one parent to be a citizen of the nation. We're the only nation (I'm pretty sure) where people who have no tie to the country at all can secure citizenship for their children just by coming here for an afternoon, having a baby at a hospital, and heading home.
"The court hereby finds that Class Petitioners have demonstrated likelihood of success on the merits of their claims; that Class Petitioners are likely to suffer irreparable harm if the order is not granted; that the potential harm to the class petitioners if the order is not granted outweighs the potential harm to Respondents if the order is granted; and that the issuance of this order is in the public interest," ruled Judge Joseph LaPlante of New Hampshire.
One year ago Sunday President Donald Trump was almost murdered by a man we still know little about. Standing on stage in Butler, PA, speaking to a crowd of supporters just months ahead of the general presidential election, Trump was shot at. A man was killed. The gunman was killed. Others would spend weeks in recovery from their injuries. It's wild to look at that moment and realize how different the country and the world would be. Biden would likely still be president—he didn't drop out until after the Butler attempt—and his administration's policies would still be destroying America.
I'm here in Tampa for Turning Point USA's Student Action Summit, if you're here too come say hi! We have a booth on media row.
Have a great weekend!
