Hi everyone!
Trump met with Steve Bannon in the White House yesterday as the president decided to give Iran two more weeks before deciding whether or not to join Israel in a bombing attack on the nation's nuclear facilities. This is a bit of a win for the 60% of Americans, across political, gender, and race lines, who would prefer that the US not jump into another foreign war. 59 percent of men, 60 percent of women, 65 percent of Democrats, 53 percent of independents, 59 percent of white Americans, 55 percent of black Americans, and 64 percent of Hispanic Americans all said "please let's not go to war." We've got another two weeks of pressure hanging over us wondering "will we or won't we."
Even as Trump attempts to lower the temperature, whether Iran will go along with that or not, it seems like Bibi Netanyahu as well as US war hawks like Lindsey Graham and apparently Ted Cruz are seeking to not only get American bombers dropping massive ordinances over Iran but to engage in a regime change war. There are a bunch of problems with engaging in a war like that, not the least of which is that we're bad at it. We did not do well with regime change in Iraq or Afghanistan. Women aren't even allowed to speak there, or be seen inside their own homes. A bride wasn't allowed to be at her OWN wedding because those Taliban guys hate women so much.
Meanwhile, since Trump has taken office, the number of illegal immigrants in the US has dropped by 1 millionâthat's a drastic difference from Joe Biden's term when the numbers just kept rising. A population survey revealed, per the Center for Immigration Studies, that "the total foreign-born population, both in and out of the labor force, declined 957,000 from January to May 2025." That number is pretty staggering, but it doesn't even reflect that the border has been effectively closed. In May, Customs and Border Protection released zero illegal border crossers into the US. May 2024 saw 64,000 released under Biden.
The New York City mayoral election is coming up on Tuesday and Andrew Cuomo's lead against crazy socialist Zohran Mamdani has dropped to a mere 10%. Okay, so it's not the mayoral election on Tuesday, it's the Democrat Party primary, but that's effectively the mayoral election right there. Whoever wins that takes the whole kittyâor at least they have done since the GOP has ceded Gracie Mansion and City Hall to the Democrats. Mamdani has this totally wacky, city-destroying platform that if enacted would drive the rich people and big companies right across the river and out of the city.
Outspoken Harvard alum Bill Ackman, who decried his alma mater for the rampant antisemitism they permitted to flourish on campus, blasted Mamdani, too, saying: "If Mamdani becomes the mayor of New York, you're going to see the flight of businesses from New York. Most of the businesses that operate in New York City in the financial sector are incredibly portable." Grocery store owner John Catsimatidis, who operates the Gristedes stores, said he'd consider shuttering those markets should Mamdani come in and implement city-run grocery stores (driving out competition), as well as moving his Red Apple Group out to New Jersey.
Mamdani is just the worst. He wants to implement a $10 billion tax increase on businesses and wealthy individuals to fund free buses, city-run grocery stores, free child care, rent control, $30 min wage, and so many other absurd things that will decimate the tax base and send the already crumbling city further into ruin. It should be illegal to do all this stuff to the greatest city on earth. (Don't come at me, I'll never change my mind.)
I got a chance to sit down with Alex Clark at TPUSA's YWLS and talked to her about MAHA and the conflicting expectations on young women in America these days, you can check it out on YouTube. I'm planning to write it up, but I haven't got to it yet. I also wrote in the NY Post about the reasons that JD Vance and Clarence Thomas are right and the leftist "expert" class has broken our trust for the last time, this time on transâand those experts are doubling down despite the SCOTUS ruling.
And just as a final note, the AI chatbot stuff has gotten totally out of hand. The New York Times is suggesting that lonely kids should be given AI chatbots to make friends with and some man with a real girlfriend and a child actually proposed to a chatbotâwho said yesâand then cried when its memory got erased, ending their entire "relationship." I prefer humans, we all should.
I hope you have a great weekend! I feel like we've really earned a few days off.
Here's what's on my desk today:
Trump wins right to use National Guard in California against governorâs wishes: Ninth Circuit
Judge Mark J. Bennett acknowledged that while presidential authority in these cases is not âunreviewable,â it remains substantial and deserving of respect by the courts.
JD Vance is right â don't trust the left's 'experts'
Too much power and trust has been given to people who claim to have expertise, but are really just making things up as they go along.
Assaults against ICE increase 500% while carrying out arrests: DHS
âToday, the Department of Homeland Security released new data revealing that ICE law enforcement is now facing a 500% increase in assaults.â
Foreign students seeking visas will have ALL social media vetted by State Dept seeking âindications of hostilityâ to US
Embassies were also directed to flag any âadvocacy for, aid or support for foreign terrorists and other threats to US national securityâ and âsupport for unlawful antisemitic harassment or violence.â
