Shri Thanedar, the Democrat representing Michigan's 13th Congressional District in the House, has lost his bid to retain his seat. On Wednesday morning, the Associated Press called the primary for his challenger, Donavan McKinney.
Per AP's results as of 9:55 am, with 99 percent of the vote in, Thanedar received 48.1 percent of the vote to McKinney's 51.9 percent. Less than 4,000 votes separated the two Democrat candidates.
