Defense attorney Kevin Reddington stepped outside the courtroom on Monday while jurors continued their <a href="https://thepostmillennial.com/judge-excuses-clancy-jury-for-day-deliberations-to-resume-monday-morning">deliberation</a> in the murder trial of Lindsay Clancy. The jury has been deliberating since Thursday afternoon and only once asked a question. On Friday, they asked to see the <a href="https://thepostmillennial.com/breaking-jury-in-clancy-case-asks-to-see-pill-bottles-knife-deliberations-continue">knife </a>Clancy used in an attempt to take her own life and a bag of pills that were found in her bedside drawer following the January 2023 murders.<br />

"How do you feel about being labeled a feminist icon?" A reporter asked Reddington as he was mobbed by supporters of Clancy.<br />

"It's kind of unusual," Reddington said.<br />

There is no question that Clancy killed her three children, she has admitted to it. But she and Reddington claim that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis that caused her to strangle the three children with exercise bands before attempting to kill herself. The youngest child was 18-months-old, the oldest just 5-years-old. She is being tried for first-degree murder but the judge overseeing the case instructed the jury that they could also consider <a href="https://thepostmillennial.com/judge-to-tell-jury-they-can-consider-manslaughter-in-lindsay-clancy-child-murder-case">manslaughter.</a><br />

The claim from Reddington, and from the Clancy supporters who have gathered around the Plymouth courthouse to advocate for her, is that Clancy didn't get enough help. Prosecutors have shown that she, the former maternity and delivery nurse had a lengthy maternity leave, that her husband had paternity leave and worked from home. The family even had a nanny until Clancy had her third child and stayed home with them.<br />

As Reddington attempted to get to his car, one woman told him "having a man that understands what happens postpartum and our mental health and it being weaponized against us and us being scared to lose our children if we speak out about it, it means the world to us."<br />

Reddington argued in court that Clancy was suffering from medical mistreatment, that she had been prescribed too many pills and didn't have enough help from the many doctors that she was seeing with her mental health complaints. It was also argued that Clancy feared losing her children and that's why she wasn't more explicit with health care providers about how she was feeling before she killed them.<br />
