On Monday, Tina Peters was released from a Colorado state prison weeks after Colorado Governor Jared Polis commuted the sentence of the former Mesa County clerk. Peters was convicted on charges related to election laws following the 2020 presidential race and was sentenced to serve 9 years behind bars.
Polis commuted her sentence on May 15. During the 2020 election, Peters was charged with allowing someone to use an election worker's badge to gain access to election equipment involved with the Dominion Voting Systems. At the time, Peters said they were looking for evidence of election fraud.
